Event goals

  • Boost alumni engagement and keep alumni connected to their school — and each other

  • Offer an interactive virtual social experience for alumni to reconnect with acquaintances and make new professional and social connections

  • Offer guests flexibility to move around and talk to each other as they like without much effort from the event host

Social hour experience

  • Designed a variety of virtual alumni events within Social hour including MIT TechArabia 2022, a two-day event featuring attendees from 20+ countries

  • Alumni were able to mix and mingle; naturally socializing in small group conversations around themed conversation starters

  • Used a variety of Social hour layouts to feature large-scale presentations with keynote speakers on Stage layouts, and workshops, fireside chats, tech talks, and sponsored booths in Lounge layouts
