Event management
Topic-based tables Attendees can set discussion topics and prompts for their table and invite other attendees to join their conversation. Hopin only allows event organizers to create session topics.
Multi-track events Hosts can create multi-track events and group tables in theme-named rooms. Hopin gives hosts the ability to create unlimited named session-tracks.
Announcements Event hosts can address their entire event using video announcements. Hopin hosts are limited to leaving pre-recorded video announcments in the reception area or sending live updates via chat.
Background music Event hosts can add a playlist and put on background music for the entire event to enjoy. Hopin does not make it easy to add background music. Hosts must use RTMP to stream music onto the stage.
Screenshare Every attendee can screenshare at each table. Presenters can share their screen when on stage but once there are five presenters on stage then the ability to screenshare is removed.
Branded events Hosts can create a branded look and feel for each event by adding a logo and choosing a color for the background. Hopin lets you to change the colors of the event to your branded colors.
Lobby Guests enter the event in the lobby so they have a chance to select the table they want to join. In the lobby, they get background music, announcements, and prompts to join a table. Attendees enter the reception page where the sponsors, agenda, and welcome message are displayed.
Social interactions
Networking Attendees have the freedom to network and visit whichever tables or topics they please without the host assigning them. Attendees are limited to automated one-on-one meetings for a predetermined time only in the networking section.
Networking nudges Attendees are prompted to visit other tables and meet new people. Hopin randomly pairs attendees together in a series one-on-one meetings. Attendees cannot choose specific people to meet.
Profile details Attendees can get to know the basics about the tablemates through the virtual name cards under each video stream that includes profile picture, job title, company, and custom status. Attendees can exchange virtual business cards for following up later if both parties agree to connect.
Ice breakers Attendees at the same table can play fun games or get the conversation flowing with suggested icebreaker topics. Hopin does not offer any games or ice breakers for their networking sessions.
Non-verbal communication Attendees have a variety of non-verbal communication prompts at their fingertips. Attendees can change status, raise hands, and share reactions. Hopin does not offer attendees any non-verbal communication shortcuts.
Chat Attendees can chat with everyone at their table. Hopin allows attendess to text chat both session and event wide, as well as one-on-one.
Reporting
Event stats and reports Admins can measure the success of their event by accessing event data including the number of connections made, the most popular tables, and engagement levels of all the attendees. Hopin admins are able to run and download multiple types of event reports.
Event connection summary Attendees receive a summary of the connections they made during the event that include LinkedIn profiles. Hopin provides attendees the ability to double opt-in and share contact information with connections.
